Deep Diver

You completed one deep dive for your Advanced Open Water. You’re certified to 100ft.

Did you catch the bug? Do you want to go deeper? Do you want to come up safely from below the deep?

Anyone can fall to 130ft; we will learn how to calculate your reserve gas, plan your usable gas/time/NDL, and respond to emergencies when the surface is inaccessible. This is your stepping stone to technical diving, and its philosophy, but we will learn how to go deep in your current gear (or rental).

FAQs

What are the prerequisites?

Advanced Open Water

Nitrox (can be completed alongside for discount)

Standard SCUBA, without #FlappySnagHazards

is this a technical diving class?

On the books, no. We will not exceed our No Decompression Limit or go into overhead, so you can make a direct assent to the surface at all times. This training is also useful for recreational dive trips.

However, you will feel the very limits of single tank diving during this class. My hope is that you understand the need for helium in your breathing gas and slower ascents with decompression stops.

Do I need to have my own gear?

Ownership is not an absolute requirement, but let’s chat about your goals beforehand. We can get you into good gear with a hefty student discount.
